PO Box® with Transfer of Normal Address Mail
Get your usual address mail and PO Box® mail held together safely and securely at your local delivery office. You can collect them at a time that suits you.
Note – Your normal address and Royal Mail PO Box mail must be provided from the same delivery office. This service is not available if you have moved from your normal address.

There are three ways you can apply for a PO Box®:
1. Apply online
The quickest way to apply for a PO Box® Collect or Deliver service is to apply online . You can pay using your debit or credit card and choose which date you’d like your PO Box to start. We aim to set up your PO Box® within seven working days of receiving your completed application form and payment. NB: a Transfer service can only be purchased using the paper application.
2. Apply by post
Download, print and complete the PO Box® paper application form, choosing which date you’d like your PO box to start.
Attach the following items to the form:
- Your cheque payment
- The required proof of address, which must be less than three months old (this could include a bank or building society statement, a utility bill, a non-mobile phone bill, a council tax bill, a mortgage statement or a home insurance certificate)
Please send these to the address on the form. We aim to set up your PO Box® within 10 working days of receiving a completed application form and payment. If you’re unable to print the PO Box® form, please contact us by clicking on the “Help with my PO Box” option under “Receiving mail”.
3. Apply by phone
You can apply for your PO Box® by phone, and pay using your debit or credit card. You’ll also be able to choose which date your PO Box will begin. We aim to set up your PO Box® within 10 working days of completing your application over the phone. It will then begin on your indicated start date. You can contact us to apply for your new PO Box® by clicking on the “Help with my PO Box” option under “Receiving mail”.

What if mail has to be signed for?
When you come in to collect your mail, you will find a ‘something for you‘ or ‘fee to pay’ card with your normal mail. If anything has to be signed or paid for you can do this before you leave the delivery office.Back to top
When does my Royal Mail PO Box® expire or need renewing?
You can set up a Royal Mail PO Box® for six months or twelve months. Before your contract expires we will write to you to give the opportunity to renew.
If you need to know your expiry date, Contact us quoting your account number and we can confirm this for you.
Please be aware that if you fail to renew within the require time period your service will end. We may return incoming mail to the sender, or otherwise dispose of it. If you do not renew, we may rent your Royal Mail PO Box® to someone else.Back to top
Can all my mail be sent to my Royal Mail PO Box®?
All mail delivered by Royal Mail can be sent to your Royal Mail PO Box®. We will not take delivery of mail sent to you through other carriers or couriers e.g. ParcelForce. We may provide your delivery address details to couriers should they request this information.Back to top
How often do I need to collect my Royal Mail PO Box® mail?
We recommend that you collect your mail on a regular basis, it really depends on how much mail is delivered to your Royal Mail PO Box® and how often you're available to collect it. Some customers choose to collect mail daily, other less frequently. We recommend that you collect your mail at least once a week. If you don't collect your mail for over a month we may contact you or return the mail to the address you gave us when you set up the service. If you don't collect the mail from your Royal Mail PO Box® for three consecutive months, and you haven't advised us for the reason for this, we may cancel it.
Items sent Royal Mail Signed For™, Royal Mail Tracked® and Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed™ need to be collected within 18 days. Otherwise we'll return them to the sender.Back to top

How do I cancel my Royal Mail PO Box® and what happens to my mail?
To cancel your PO Box® before the end of the rental period, you must give at least one month's written notice. To do this please contact us.
